The Bergen International Film Festival (BIFF) runs from Wednesday 14 to Thursday 22 October. It opens with Markens grøde by director Hans Petter Moland.

Markens grøde is screened at Bergen Kino on 14 October.

BIFF builds its programme around two international main competitions: Cinema Extraordinaire and Documentaire Extraordinaire. The festival also lists Checkpoints, Gulluglen and Norsk dokumentar, among others.

Climate, diversity and young viewers also get their own programme strands. Klimafestivalen focuses on climate and the environment, Skeiv propaganda on diversity in sexuality and gender, and BIFF Ung features films selected by the programme team.

Bergen Kino is the main venue; the organisation also lists screenings at other places in the city, including USF Verftet and Det Akademiske Kvarter. The festival programme runs for nine days, from the opening on 14 October to the close on 22 October.
